The ferry dropped us off in the main town in Ko Phi Phi. We had heard that the main town was pretty crowded, so we took a 45 minute hike down the island to a place called Long Beach. The hike was pretty intense with our full packs, but it wasn't too bad. About half of the trail was just above the beach, the other half was through a moderately hilly semi-jungle area. The trail was not maintained so some parts were pretty narrow, but we eventually made it.
There was only about 6 places to stay on the beach, the first 4 we checked were full, the 5th was a posh place with a room for 6000 baht (about $200 US), we passed on that one & got one of the last bungalows in the 6th place for 500 baht ($15 US).
Other highlights of the day included Levi running out of clean underwear and borrowing a pair of Jen's, also we realized that there was no ATM on the beach so Levi had to run back on the trail to the main town (about 2 miles) to get some more cash (this was before he put on Jen's underwear so the run was quite enjoyable).

not quite sure where to go with this one Levi....um...were they tangas, pink and lacy?... :P Hee Hee.
(from Jen) I have a photo of him in them but he won't let me post it :( I suppose the imagination might be able to think up a more hilarious image... Let's just say he's lucky I packed one pair of conservative underwear.
